Cellar/Tasting Notes
Hermitage is an exceptional terroir, unique and legendary. The persistence of this wine leaves you speechless, with an explosion of blackcurrant, leather and cassis. A great wine for laying down, it warrants good cellaring. Patience will be rewarded as it achieves its full potential. Stephen Tanzer (ST): 92-94 "Bright purple. Captivating bouquet combines blackberry and blueberry liqueur, mocha, bitter chocolate and pipe tobacco, plus an exotic suggestion of incense. Compellingly rich and expansive, with vibrant black and blue fruit flavors and a strong floral quality. The smoky, spicy, very long finish features suave tannins and lingering florality." Wine Spectator (WS): 95 "Lush but nicely defined, with graphite and charcoal along the edges of the unctuous dark plum, blackberry and blueberry fruit core. Lovely, velvety tannins and a lingering alder note on the finish add length and cut. Best from 2014 through 2025. 425 cases made. " |
