Maxime Graillot, son of famed Crozes-Hermitage pioneer Alain Graillot, began making very small quantities Domaine des Lises in Crozes-Hermitage in 2004. Compared to his father's wines, Maxime’s have more heft and fruit, thanks possibly to the fact that he de-stems the grapes before the vatting.

"Vivid purple. Intense dark berry aromas show impressive depth and spiciness. Juicy, tightly focused blackberry and bitter cherry flavors gain sweetness and flesh with air, along with a suave floral quality. Violet and star anise notes linger on the very long, sweet, well-focused finish."
