Tasted in three components: #1, from Sabarotte: Wild, expansive aromas of candied red berries, fresh flowers and black pepper, with a smoky overtone. Juicy, penetrating raspberry and cherry flavors show a suave blend of richness and energy. #2, from La Cote: Much fruitier, offering an array of fresh red and dark berry aromas and flavors and a touch of violet. Suave and seamless in texture, with excellent cling. #3, from Reynard: More minerality and spiciness on the nose. Sappy, incisive black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors, with a strong peppery kick on the finish. The final wine should be intensely fruity and forward, with appealing spice and floral accents and gentle tannins. Like most '11s from the northern Rhone, it should provide plenty of immediate appeal.
