Tradition symbolizes the domaine's affection for Chateauneuf du Pape and the traditions passed down from generation to generation through the Giraud family. The Tradition is made from a blend of primarily Grenache. It is rich and powerful and reflects the terroir as it exhibits black cherry notes which is typical of the appellation.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (RP): 92-94
"Still in tank, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition has plenty of floral, herb and underbrush notes to go with a core of sweet berry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, rich and textured, with ultra-fine tannin, it should be accessible in its youth yet have a solid 12-15 years drink window."
Stephen Tanzer (ST): 91-93
"Bright ruby-red. Highly perfumed scents of candied red fruit, potpourri and incense. Smooth and open-knit, offering intense black raspberry and cola flavors that become sweeter with air. Closes very long and spicy, with excellent clarity and fine-grained, harmonious tannins."
