The 2011 Bienvenues Batard Montrachet presents with a very scented nose and is certainly not lacking in character or roundness. Thw wine is greatly balanced with a harmonious finish. With white fruit and citrus notes, it will evolve with the years and has great cellaring potential.
Burghound (BH): 91-94
"There is ample wood to the ripe, expressive and solidly complex nose of honeysuckle, pear, white peach and discreet spice nuances. The medium-bodied flavors possess a sophisticated mouth feel and plenty of palate coating dry extract before culminating in a wonderfully long finish. The complexity displayed by the nose is further reflected on the palate and this is really very stylish."
Stephen Tanzer (ST): 92-94
"Bright, green-tinged yellow. Cardamom and spearmint dominate the nose. Densely packed and salty but also quite high-pitched, with lemon and lime flavors energized by tightly coiled minerality. Voluminous but very backward. This will need a good six to eight years of cellaring. A rather unusual combination of exotic on the nose and saline on the palate."
