The wines of Domaine Etienne Sauzet are among the most sought after white wines of Burgundy and the tradition to the land as well as new innovation has made it so.
Super aromatic and forward for such a young wine, the 2011 Bienvenues Batard Montrache is very mineral oriented, racy and meaty, with anise and dried apricot. With great length on the palate, this has power but it’s hidden behind the minerality for the moment. Long, long flavors and a salty, elegant finish.

"Notes of honeysuckle, freshly sliced lemon, spice, pear and white peach are trimmed in soft wood nuances. There is superb mid-palate concentration and seemingly endless reserves of dry extract that completely stain the palate on the wonderfully textured medium full-bodied flavors that possess positively gorgeous persistence. This harmonious effort is a beguiling combination of power and finesse. Lovely."
Stephen Tanzer (ST): 91-93
"Pale green-tinged yellow. Pear, yellow peach, flowers and minerals on the nose. Chewy and fat; even less showy today than the Combettes but possesses a solid spine of nicely integrated acidity. Quite taut, even a bit youthfully spiky now. Finishes with a tactile impression of salty extract. This will need at least three or four years to unwind."
