Burghound (BH): 91 "A mildly exotic nose of pear and pineapple trimmed in very subtle wood nuances is followed by attractively well-detailed and seductively textured flavors that are blessed with plenty of mouth coating dry extract. The richness and very subtle sweetness of the mid-palate is completely offset by the clean, dry, linear and highly persistent finish. Lovely." Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (RP): 92 "One of the more reticent wines in this lineup, the 2010 Chassagne-Montrachet La Maltroie nevertheless impresses for its overall balance, not to mention its considerable potential. A burst of slate, flint and crushed rocks hits the palate, until the fruit begins to emerge. The 2010 needs time in bottle for the fruit to fully flesh out within the wine’s broad-shouldered frame. I especially like the intensity of the finish here. Anticipated maturity: 2013+. "
Wine Spectator (WS): 90 "A broad version, showing lime blossom, apple and green tea flavors, with a hint of spice. Concentrated, turning more focused on the finish, where a chalky sensation lingers. " |
