Chassagne Premier Cru En Remilly's rocky soils give it a precocious minerality that gives precision and minerality to the full ripe fruit that results from southerly exposure to the sun, often with an herbal element of mint or thyme. Over time and aging well, En Remilly develops a slight nuttiness and earthy mushroom component that makes it a wonderful food wine.
Burghound (BH): 92
" A very fresh and admirably pure nose offers up notes of white flower, spiced pear, wet stone and lemon hints that continue over to the intensely mineral-driven and beguilingly textured medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a citrusy, dry and solidly persistent finish. Lovely."
Wine Spectator (WS): 94
"A rich, dense style, stuffing peach, apple and citrus flavors into a plush texture and a firm frame. The finish stands out, going on and on, with light butterscotch, hazelnut and spice flourishes."
