Puligny Montrachet are considered one of the most famous and highly sought after wines of the world. Domaine Etienne Sauzet, is composed of 23 acres and majority of the domaine resides in the premier cru vineyards of Puligny Montrachet. The wine is a wonderful representation of a white burgundy: noble and refined.

"The 2012 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts comes from their 0.7-hectare parcel of around 60-year-old vines located in the middle of the vineyard. It has a generous bouquet with melon, dried stone and flint notes that does not quite have the exuberance of the Champs-Gain. The palate is very well-balanced with cheeky peach notes furnishing the entry. This is a pretty Puligny, generous in the mouth with a slight viscosity coming through towards the finish. This is probably suitable for earlier drinking than Sauzet’s other premier crus."
Stephen Tanzer (ST): 91-93
"Good medium yellow. Very ripe aromas and flavors of pineapple, yellow peach, clove and nutmeg. Dense, deep and sweet; not yet complex but boasts terrific fat owing to the tiny yield. This huge wine really spreads out to coat the palate and resounds on the aftertaste. Nicely smooth and lacking the bitter edge I found in a few of the Sauzet's 2012 premier crus."
