A serious wine from a serious winemaker and vineyard! Chantal Tortochot is an "old school" wine maker with a modern touch, with a welcome bias toward letting the greatness of the wine speak for itself. The 2010 Clos Vougeot displays classic power of the vineyard site. The fruit is rich and unctuous, layered with ripe red and dark berry notes, followed by hints of anise and oak. Tortochot has a scant half acre of prime Clos Vougeot vines. Given their excellence, it's no wonder her wines sell out quickly. Burghound (BH): |
