Stephen Tanzer (ST): 91-93 "(finished its malo in May, or about four months earlier than the Grand Clos des Epenots): Medium red. Musky, soil-driven aromas of redcurrant and epices fines; less fruity and primary than the Grand Clos des Epenots. Creamy and refined, with harmonious acidity and mellow soil and spice notes. Tannins are firm and dusty, but the saline finish shows a slight youthful bitterness. This is all about earth and spices; I wanted a bit more fruit. " |
