Beaune Premier Cru Couchereaux has a deep ruby colour. Due to its exposure, it develops powerful aromas of matured red fruits. It is a structured wine, with good tannins, rich and able to age.
It will accompany most meat dishes, whether they be light or strongly sauced, as well as most cheese.

"More moderate though far from invisible wood surrounds notes of menthol and cool cherry aromas slides gracefully into supple, vibrant and attractively rich and mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess a lovely mouth feel thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins. Despite their fine grain the admirably long finish is notably firm and this will require most of a decade to arrive at its peak."
Stephen Tanzer (ST): 88-91
"Good medium red. Perfumed nose offers red cherry, crushed stone, fresh herbs and menthol. Silky and soil-driven, with an underlying rocky character giving the wine noteworthy delicacy...."
