Cellar/Tasting Notes
Louis Jadot Echezeaux is a solid, well constituted, powerful as well as a delicate wine. It develops fine and intense Pinot Noir fruity aromas as well as spices notes. It is very long in the mouth.
It will be perfect with roasts, game, meats in sauce and fine cheeses. Burghound (BH): 90-93 "There is much less wood in evidence on the fresh, spicy, earthy and dense nose of both red and black currant scents ... the tannins are more fine-grained plus there is good verve to the medium weight plus flavors that culminate in a mouth coating, firm, moderately austere and strikingly long finish. This should be excellent." Stephen Tanzer (ST): 90-92 "Medium red. Distinctly cool aromas of medicinal red fruits and peppery herbs. More saline than fruity on the palate, in a rather tightly wrapped style. This went through its malolactic fermentation earlier than the Clos Vougeot and seems more backward today--not to mention less sweet than usual at this stage of its evolution." |
