Dugat-Py is a renowned winemaker who hardly intervenes with the vinification process and allows the process to occur naturally. The end products are wines which are deeply coloured, rich, full-bodied and elegant.
The 2010 Charmes Chambertin is no exception as this is a superb, fleshy and refined red burgundy.

" A very floral nose also offers up notes of black cherry, pepper, spice and plenty of earth that continue over to the very rich, round and impressively concentrated large-scaled flavors that possess outstanding intensity and plenty of drive on the suave and seductively textured finish. While this certainly evidences good size, weight and power, it is essentially a wine of refinement and even finesse in 2010. It is firmly but not imposingly structured and 15 to 18 years should see it at its best. Still, I wouldn't dream of opening a bottle before this has at least 10 years of age on it."

"Deep, saturated red with ruby tones. Complex, expressive nose melds black raspberry, chocolate, mocha, sweet spices and game. Sweet and silky for a Dugat wine, with a surprisingly pliant texture to the flavors of purple fruits, violet and licorice. Finishes with broad, substantial, gripping tannins and explosive length."
