The philosophy of the Grivot family is to do everything possible to achieve a fine, opulent, rich pleasurable wine that reflects Burgundy's distinctive terroir.
The Les Charmois is an outstanding village wine. It is very fine, long on the palate and may be aged for a decade.
Antonio Galloni remarks: "I was blown away by the wines I tasted with Etienne Grivot on what turned out to be one of the most thrilling visits of my fall trip. Readers should do whatever they can to latch onto a few bottles of these exquisite Burgundies."

"Palish red. Ineffable aromas of red cherry, redcurrant, iron and rose petal. Tangy and sharply delineated, with terrific cut and vivacity to its sappy red berry flavors lifted by herbs and pepper. Finishes suavely tannic and long. Grivot describes this site as having "very complex soil for village wine," adding that he routinely carries out a green harvest here. A superb village offering."

"The 2010 Nuits St. Georges Les Charmois is gorgeous. High-toned floral notes open up beautifully in the glass, followed by expressive red berries, licorice and spices. The 2010 possesses striking inner perfume, layers of supple fruit and the silkiest of tannins. It is an awesome start to this survey of the domaine's 2010s."
