The 2009 Les Suchots is a wine of finesse, richness, complexity and harmony which all come together exhibiting how complete the wine is. An iron hand in a velvet glove, it describes the fullness of the Pinot Noir with exceptional distinction, expressing a taut nervosity before resonating with richness and elegance. Its aromas evolve harmoniously with age. When young, the wine offers floral notes mingled with raspberry, morello cherries and blackcurrant. With time the aromas evolve and develop towards spices, liquorice, undergrowth and leather.

"An elegant, pure and ultra-spicy if discreet nose is both quite floral and high-toned with primarily red berry fruit aromas in evidence. The seductively textured and wonderfully intense flavors display a subtle mineral-streak that extends to the naturally sweet, long and palate staining finish. This genuinely stunning effort is not as tight as the Forêts and should drink well a few years earlier."

"The 2009 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots covers every inch of the palate with layers of mineral-infused fruit. Here, too, the wine's energy is really something to behold. The ripeness of the year comes through, but there is also considerable underlying structure. Readers will be tempted by the round, inviting finish, but who can wait will be amply rewarded."
