Christian Serafin Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Cote de Nuits France 2010 750ml
Burghound (BH): 92-95
A subtle but not invisible application of wood frames fresh, cool, pure and remarkably complex aromas of various red berries, underbrush, game and plenty of earth. There is excellent richness to the full-bodied and overtly powerful big-bodied flavors that brim with palate coating dry extract that also pushes the tightly coiled tannic spine to the background on the long, balanced and wonderfully complex finish. Impressive.
Stephen Tanzer (ST): 92-95
"Good saturated dark red. Sexy aromas of dark berries, smoke and minerals. Lush and sweet on the palate, with an intriguing musky quality to the highly concentrated blackberry, game and mineral flavors. Really silky and seamless but with terrific spine. Finishes sappy and very long. A very stylish wine of great charm, this has the balance to give early pleasure but should really be laid down for a minimum of five or six years."
