A background application of wood is visible on the more elegant aromas of violet, plum and wet stone. There is first rate intensity and detail to the more obviously mineral-inflected flavors that possess a seductive mouth feel before terminating in a finer if not necessarily more persistent finale. This should amply reward mid-term cellaring.

Bright red-ruby. Black cherry, licorice, roast coffee and a whiff of game on the nose. Dense, thick and sweet but youthfully taut and tightly wound. Black fruit and mineral flavors are impressively concentrated but imploded today. Finishes with very firm tannins and a flavor of cassis. With an almost cabernet-like structure, this is built to age.
