The Beaux Monts is a rich, full wine with exquisite scents of red fruits and exotic spices. No wonder it is one of the most famous Vosne premier crus. Its velvety roundness makes it charming early on but its natural balance will also ensure good cellaring potential.
Burghound (BH): 90
"A cool, discreet and reserved red pinot fruit nose offers up notes of crushed herbs and a broad range of spice notes that clearly identify the wine as a fine Vosne. The linear, direct and mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors are strikingly energetic and also stain the palate on the lingering and moderately austere finish. This is Cistercian in its restraint at present and wonderfully classy."
Stephen Tanzer (ST): 90
"Good medium red. Spicy aromas of smoky red fruits. Not yet expressive in the middle palate, but sound acidity gives the wine energy and cut. Finishes with good length and firm tannic backbone for the year. There's good underlying minerality here, but the wine is not yet expressing itself. This was picked on the late side."
Wine Spectator (WS): 91
"Offers a combination of sweet cherry, berry and mineral flavors, but this is also earthy in style. Though not showing a lot of fruit today, the finish is fairly well-balanced and sweet, so give this some time to sort itself out."
