Made from the blending of the two distilleries of Yoichi and Miyagikyo, this whisky was the pride of its creator Mastaka Taketsuru, founder of Nikka and father of Japanese whisky.
Malt whisky is distilled exclusively from barley malt, and is considered to be the forefather of all other types of whisky. In general, it is divided into single malt whisky (several malt whiskies from a single distillery vatted together) and pure malt whisky (malt whisky from several distilleries vatted together).
The Pure malt 12 year old is a Malt whisky matured for 12 years or more at the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries and blended in vats. AN outstanding Pure malt whisky.

"Bright gold in color and fresh, this single malt from Nikka offers a pitch-perfect balance of fruit, oak and smoke. On the palate, this translates to fresh apple and subtle vanilla flavors that taper smoothly." (Kara Newman)
