Providence is a special jewel of a vineyard in the heart of Pomerol and was acquired by Jean-Pierre Moueix in 2005. Its previous owners, the Dupuy family had called it La Providence but since 2005, the wine has been referred to as Providence. The terroir is both clay and gravel and is ideal for the merlot grape, the main grape varietal in Providence, and thus an elegant, silky and refined wine is produced.

Captivating, with Lapsang souchong tea and incense flavors up front, followed by creamy-textured plum and fig sauce, blackberry preserve and ganache notes, which sail through the long, smoky and creamy finish.
James Suckling (JS): 95
"A wine, with a deep nose of blueberries, blackberries, dark chocolate, nutmeg and vanilla bean. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a beautiful depth of fruit. Very attractive texture to this wine."
