Companta joins the Sonnalta PX, Finealta, Artein and Ealant iterations in the Private Edition stable.
The whisky is called Companta which is Scots Gaelic for friendship. Glenmorangie master distiller Dr. Bill Lumsden has married casks from the famous Clos de Tart and Rasteau vineyards to create a whisky that celebrates the shared pursuit of perfection between the Scots and the French. The whisky has spent time in Grand Cru casks from Clos de Tart in Burgundy and fortified wine casks from the Cotes du Rhone.
The color is deep cherry red with rich, autumnal scents of red berries,a hint of fragrant wood smoke and some aromatic, nutty oak. On the palate are flavors of red/stewed fruits, sugared plums, blood orange, rose hip syrup, milk chocolate and brown sugar.
