Cellar/Tasting Notes
The Botran family have been makers of fine rums for over six decades, with an uncompromising dedication to quality and superior taste. On the Botran estate in southern Guatemala, we grow the finest varieties of sugar cane and hand select those used for our premium rums. The cane is taken to our sugar mill where the first press is turned into virgin honey; our local distillery and the aging facility in the mountains complete the process. Various types of barrels are used in our unique Solera aging process, which provides great depth and richness to the rum through aging in a combination of Bourbon, re-charred Bourbon, Sherry and Port oak barrels, adding the unique characteristics of each. Every rum barrel is cared for and sampled regularly. Through this process and over time, the Botran family has created their unique signature style – rums with complexity, depth, richness and natural sweet notes of vanilla and dried fruits on the nose. |
