Cellar/Tasting Notes
We’re always on the lookout for delicious, inexpensive red Bordeaux, and the exceptional 2009 vintage has produced quite a few terrific examples – Chateau Gravelier is definitely one of them.
The Gravelier vineyard is situated in the heart of the Bordeaux AOC area and encompasses 25 hectares (about 62 acres) of vines with an average age of 20 years, planted on slopes with a southern exposure to the sun.
A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, Gravelier boasts a bouquet of blackcurrant and cherries. The palate shows a nice equilibrium with lovely texture, concentrated fruit, good body and subtle tannins; velvety in the mouth and extremely easy-to-drink. A fruity and generous “Petit” Bordeaux.
