Although it is planted and vinified elsewhere, nearly all the noteworthy Chenin Blanc comes from the Loire region of France - from Anjou, Vouvray, Saumur and Montlouis. Other regions that have excelled at Chenin Blanc are South Africa (around the Olifants River, Stellenbosch and Paardeberg) and California.
