Cellar/Tasting Notes It is really hard to find good popular-priced Merlot (think back to the movie Sideways). This lovely Merlot fits the bill: Fresh black cherry with a hint of truffle, comes onto the palate with big shoulders yet very refined tannins, leaving a long, broad finish. We like it a lot.
This Italian blend (50% Merlot 30% Sangiovese 20% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a wonderful treasure to be had from dell'Ornellaia.
Cellar/Tasting Notes "Exuberant, bright, fresh and thirst-quenching. Cries out, drink me!" Eric Asimov, The New York Times, November 8, 2012
Cellar/Tasting Notes "Domaine Grand Venuer's 2010 Lirac Clos de Sixte is outstanding. It is a full-bodied, rich, textural wine with abundant blue and black fruits interwoven with garrigue and licorice..."
Cellar/Tasting Notes Indicative blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot. The harvests are carried out by hand and an "orchestration" to compose the best possible wine begins - balanced and harmonious, allowing the fruit to achieve its fullest expression. Château Preuillac are powerful, robust and rich in flavors,..
Cellar/Tasting Notes Gorgeous Textbook Cabernet wine, a real Napa gem. We get to taste a lot of wine; a lot of good wine, a lot of fair wine and a lot of why would I drink that? wine. When we taste a wine that makes our eyes light up, we are on to something and that’s what this Textbook Cab did. All our eyes lit up!..
Cellar/Tasting Notes The 2011 Riesling blend Pale is yellow in color and presents with an intense fruity nose with the blending aromas of lemon, white flowers, pineapple and yellow peach. The palate is remarkably fruity and severe.
Cellar/Tasting Notes The 2012 Sancerre Cuvee Les Coutes is a wonderful representation for a truly delightful Sancerre. It emanates fruitful aromas and its full, opulent structure presents with natural ripeness and super low concentration of Sauvignon/mineral character.
Cellar/Tasting Notes "The 2010 Malagousia may be my favorite yet from the winery - not to criticize earlier examples, which show well. Now, part of the aging is done in second and third pass oak. It handles the oak remarkably well - you hardly notice that there is any. The wine seems to have more solidity, but it is..
Cellar/Tasting Notes "Another impressive Oloroso from Gonzalez Byass. This is a sweet, dark, brooding Sherry with prune and other sweet fruit aromas. The palate is rich but has good flow, while dark flavors of dulce de leche and burnt brown sugar are wonderful. Sweet but balanced by mild coffee-like bitterness on the..
