A white wine grape known for its pronounced floral, fruity perfume. It is most often seen as a sweet wine, whether still or more often frizzante, as Asti spumante or Moscato, the fresh, lightly sweet fizzy wine from Italy that has gained in popularity recently. Muscat also is used in making fortified wines, particularly in France and Australia.
