Chateau Respide Medeville Bordeaux Blanc 2006/08 Graves 750ml (120120)
|
Cellar/Tasting Notes This is a wine that combines racy acidity, tingling minerality and lush creaminess better than no other wine. They are typically a proportionate blend of semillon and sauvignon blanc, with the occasional smattering of muscadelle. The two anchor varietals could not be more diametrically opposed and is the reason why you get such a cool wine.

Cellar/Tasting Notes This blend of 80% semillon, 19% sauvignon and 1% muscadelle is the second wine of the wonderful Sauternes property Sigalas-Rabaud. This very fine value sticky is a must for the holidays or a birthday/anniversary celebration. Extremely spicy on the nose, some coconut nuances on the palate. Very clean and well-balanced.

Steven Tanzer (IWC): 92-94 "Full, bright yellow-gold. Discreet but ripe and rich nose offers apricot, marzipan and honey. Wonderfully plump, sweet and full, with uncommon depth and concentration to its flavors of soft ripe apricot, pineapple and spices. Offers an exhilarating combination of silky texture and sheer intensity. The nectar-like, rot-ennobled finishing flavors stain the palate and go on and on. This should evolve in bottle for three or four decades."

|
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate (WA): 95-97 "The Sigalas-Rabaud has a well defined nose: grapefruit, nectarine, honey and lime, much more primal than some of the other 2009s. The palate is very well balanced with excellent acidity: apricot, honeysuckle, a touch of orange zest and then vibrant white peach bursting across the finish with lime flower and lemongrass on the aftertaste. Wonderful persistency, power and freshness. Without question: the 2009 is the best Sigalas-Rabaud that I have tasted and this nectar comes highly recommended."
