The 2009 Castello di Fonterutoli Chianti Classic starts out bright and approachable, then it gains in complexity, blending black cherry, plum and dry spices on the palate, and ends suavely with smooth tannins. From the wonderful Tuscan 2009 vintage.

Chianti Classico Querciabella is a fragrant, perfumed red. Silky tannins frame a core of cherries, sweet spices and tobacco as this elegant wine opens up in the glass and puts on weight with air. The Querciabella is 95% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

As usual, the Valdicava Rosso di Montalcino is one of the more massive Rossos of the vintage. Black-purple in color, super-ripe and full-bodied, it stands out from the rest. Exceptional purity and depth. This is a very classy red.
