"Pretty in Pink" Rose for Summer (CLS070810)
Item Price:  $45.00
Item:

Cellar/Tasting Notes
Rose is made by leaving the clear juice in contact with dark grape skins for a short time to give it color, aromatics, and depth. Good rose should have mouth-watering acids and a kind of mouth-popping liveliness. It should have the thirst-quenching qualities of a fun white, but a little bit of the weight of a red. They can be sweet or dry. While some roses are great to sip on their own, they also pair well with summer foods – grilled pork tenderloin, seafood, barbecue, spicy, etc. It's kind of a seasonal delicacy in the wine business...so come see what summer is all about! Six roses from all over the globe will be sampled.

Blind Tasting 101 (CLS081210)
Item Price:  $50.00
Item:

Cellar/Tasting Notes
Do you ever wonder how the professionals can tell where a wine comes from, what the grape is, and sometimes even the producer and the vintage...just by looking and tasting? This level of skill is honed over many years, but there are certain traits that you can ALWAYS look for that will point you in the right direction...and that's what we are going to examine! Tasting and talking about a wine when you don't know what it is can be very enlightening and educational indeed. Six wines will be "brown-bagged" and analyzed...ladies and gentlemen...start your palates!

Australian Finesse (CLS080510)
Item Price:  $70.00

Cellar/Tasting Notes
Australian wines with elegance! This notion does not usually come to mind for a country known for producing huge blockbusting Shiraz and Cabernet. There are, however, an increasing number of Australian winemakers who are succeeding in making wines with the finesse and class of European wines. Taste six great examples from renowned wineries such as Torbreck and Mollydooker, and discover there is more to Aussie wine than meets the palate.

A Novice Approach to the Wines of Alsace (CLS081910)
Item Price:  $70.00
Item:

Cellar/Tasting Notes
The beautifully vibrant, crisp and ageworthy white wines of Alsace are frequently overlooked in the retail stores...but why? The consumer is almost always assured excellent quality with almost all items that get into the US, so why isn't there more interest. We at Morrell think that consumers just have not been exposed to the region as much as they should, and we want to change that. If you are a fan of Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer, and/or dessert wines...come along for what's sure to be an exquisite ride through northeastern France! Six wines will be sampled, and we will discuss the winemaking traditions and complex geology of the region.

Advanced: Rutherford Cabernet – The Jewel of Napa (CLS082610)
Item Price:  $90.00
Item:

Cellar/Tasting Notes
If you are familiar with Cakebread, Rubicon Estate (formerly Coppola), Grgich Hills, or BV, then you already know a little about this small portion (6600 acres) of the Napa Valley sandwiched between Oakville and St. Helena. Rutherford has a very distinct "terroir" within Napa, and owes much of its character to the combination of soils (gravel, loam, sand, and volcanic rock) found there, but there is much more to discuss as well! We will go over some Napa history, and sample six richly opulent and distinct Cabernet Sauvignons side by side to see what this appellation is all about!
